Three Nidy Sports Construction Projects Earn National USTA Recognition

Nidy Sports Construction is proud to celebrate three Florida tennis facilities recognized with 2026 USTA Outstanding Facility Awards: The Courts, Cape Coral; the FGCU Tennis Complex; and the Rollins Tennis & Golf Center.

The USTA Outstanding Facility Awards recognize excellence in tennis facility construction and renovation throughout the United States. In 2026, just 41 facilities nationwide received the honor, with seven located in Florida—the most of any state. Nidy Sports Construction is proud to have played a role in the construction and/or court surfacing of three of those seven Florida facilities.

The recognition is especially meaningful because facilities are evaluated on a wide range of criteria, including overall layout and site adaptation, court surfaces and lighting, maintenance, player and spectator accommodations, aesthetics, amenities, and the facility’s contribution to growing the game of tennis.

For our team, these awards represent more than three successful projects. They reflect the craftsmanship, coordination, attention to detail, and partnerships required to build high-quality athletic facilities that will serve their communities for years to come.

The Courts, Cape Coral | Cape Coral, Florida

One of Southwest Florida’s premier racquet sports destinations, The Courts, Cape Coral features 12 tennis courts and 32 pickleball courts and has the capacity to accommodate more than 1,000 tournament participants. The facility celebrated its grand opening in 2025 and has quickly developed into a destination for local players as well as regional and national events.

Nidy Sports Construction was proud to be a major part of bringing this facility to life. The project was originally known as the Lake Kennedy Racquet Center and had already earned recognition from the American Sports Builders Association, which named it an Outstanding Tennis & Pickleball Facility. Nidy Sports Construction was the nominating contractor for that award-winning project.

The scale of the Cape Coral project—44 total tennis and pickleball courts—made it a significant undertaking and an excellent example of what can be accomplished when owners, designers, contractors, manufacturers, and facility operators work together toward a common goal.

Its latest recognition from the USTA further reinforces the quality and long-term impact of the finished facility.

FGCU Tennis Complex | Fort Myers, Florida

Nidy Sports Construction was also proud to be involved in the resurfacing of the Florida Gulf Coast University Tennis Complex, home to the FGCU Eagles men’s and women’s tennis programs.

The complex includes 12 lighted tennis courts with courtside bleachers. Ahead of the 2026 season, all 12 courts were resurfaced through a project supported by a USTA grant and collaboration between FGCU Athletics, the USTA, and USTA Florida. The work was completed in time for FGCU to host the 2026 ASUN Tennis Championships.

These courts serve more than collegiate competition. When not being used by FGCU’s tennis programs, the facility is also available for public use, extending the value of the improvements to students and the surrounding Southwest Florida tennis community.

For Nidy, projects like FGCU demonstrate the importance of proper court restoration and surfacing. A high-performance tennis facility must provide consistency, durability, appearance, and dependable playing characteristics—particularly when it serves NCAA-level athletes and championship competition.

Rollins Tennis & Golf Center | Winter Park, Florida

The new Rollins Tennis & Golf Center represents another outstanding addition to Florida’s collegiate athletic infrastructure.

Opened in October 2025, the approximately $10 million facility includes six new tennis courts along with a nearly 10,000-square-foot building featuring golf simulators, locker rooms, coaches’ offices, a clubhouse, spectator areas, and a players’ lounge overlooking the courts.

Nidy Sports Construction was proud to have a role in delivering the tennis courts for this impressive new facility in the heart of the Rollins College campus.

Replacing a tennis complex originally dedicated in 1989, the new center gives Rollins student-athletes a modern environment for training and competition while creating a facility that complements the character and quality of the campus.

Receiving a USTA Outstanding Facility Award less than a year after opening is a tremendous recognition for Rollins and everyone involved in the project.

Building Courts That Grow the Game

At Nidy Sports Construction, we understand that a successful sports facility is measured by much more than how it looks on opening day.

It must perform.

It must last.

And most importantly, it must provide athletes and communities with a place where they want to play.

Seeing The Courts, Cape Coral; FGCU Tennis Complex; and Rollins Tennis & Golf Center recognized among the nation’s outstanding tennis facilities is something our entire team can be proud of.

Each project was different—from a massive 44-court municipal racquet complex, to the resurfacing of an NCAA Division I tennis facility, to the construction of courts within a new collegiate athletic center—but each required the same commitment to quality and attention to detail.

We congratulate The Courts, Cape Coral, Florida Gulf Coast University, and Rollins College, along with the owners, designers, contractors, manufacturers, USTA representatives, facility operators, and construction teams who helped make these projects successful.

We’re proud that Nidy Sports Construction had a hand in all three.

And we’re even more excited to see athletes and communities across Florida enjoying these facilities for years to come.
